early morning/late night

i left my room at 4:30 this morning and was greeted by orion dominating a clear night sky.

a promise of sunshine and good diving today.

on my way to the chamber i passed by one of the local pharmaceutical reps on his way home.

"good morning!" "g'nite, dawg."

it reminded me of the old wily coyote/sheep dog shift change scene.

it's a totally different little island during the late night/early morning shift.

i love this place.

as the day moves on into the american holiday of thanksgiving the thought keeps popping into my head that this is a celebration commemorating the rescue of a bunch of inept campers by an indigenous people who were subsequently repaid with smallpox, syphilis, and red-eye whiskey.

and so, in the spirit of the day, from my people to yours, "thanks for the whiskey."
